Wes received his Ph.D. in astrophysical sciences from Princeton University in 1998. There, he focused on cosmological statistics and gravitational lensing. Wes continued this work as a CfA Postdoctoral Fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He transitioned into missile defense work at M.I.T. Lincoln Laboratory before returning to his alma mater, the University of Virginia, where he lectured in astronomy for two years. Wes entered the Modeling and Simulation field in 2004 at the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center, where his work centered on agent-based modeling, and validation. He then moved to the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s Center for Modeling, Simulation and Analysis, where he has conducted several projects involving model development, analysis, and validation, for sponsors ranging from NASA, to the DOD’s Test Resource Management Center, to Bristol Tennessee Essential Services, to the Army’s Aviation and Missile Command.
